Editorial Guidelines
How sources, translations, scoring, and updates are handled
Source-checked: August 15, 2026
This site publishes educational screening tools and practical information. It does not provide diagnosis or individualized medical advice. The standards below describe the process we actually use today.
Primary Sources First
Health and scoring claims should be traceable:
- Use official instrument pages, original scoring references, public-health agencies, and peer-reviewed research
- Link the source used for each screening instrument
- Distinguish source statements from our plain-language explanation
- Remove or qualify claims that cannot be verified
Screening Instrument Integrity
Standardized tools must not be silently modified:
- Keep question order, response values, source-defined subscales, and scoring rules aligned with the cited version
- Display instrument version, source, scoring method, rights notice, and verification date
- Do not add custom weights or combined severity bands
- State clearly that screening is not diagnosis
Bilingual Parity
English and Spanish are maintained as one release:
- Publish both languages on the same day
- Keep question IDs, scoring, metadata, sources, legal meaning, and page structure aligned
- Use an official translated instrument when one is available
- Block release when automated locale-parity checks fail
Authorship and Review Labels
Trust labels must describe real people and real work:
- Do not imply that instrument researchers work for or endorse this site
- Do not use medical-review or expert-review labels without a named, credentialed reviewer
- Use source-checked only when links and factual claims were actually verified
- Use real modification dates and keep a change record
Data Minimization and Resource Selection
Privacy and reference choices follow the site's stated purpose:
- Screening answers and scores remain in the user's browser
- Do not send questionnaire responses to analytics services
- Link directly to original sources, public services, or relevant nonprofit organizations
- Recheck external resources for authority, relevance, and availability
Corrections
Reported problems are checked against the cited source:
- Correct material scoring, safety, privacy, or attribution errors before adding new content
- Update English and Spanish together
- Record the real correction date
- Remove content when it cannot be made accurate or useful
Sources and limitations
The adult screener and child rating form link directly to the source version and scoring reference used. The site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the instrument authors or linked institutions.
